6 Easy Steps to Get the Most Out of AirspaceTracker

Master the skies in minutes — from tracking planes and drones to exploring past flights —
with these simple steps and quick video guides.

Whether you’re a lifelong aviation enthusiast, a drone hobbyist, or simply curious about what’s flying above you, the AirspaceTracker app puts the entire sky in your hands. Our 3D flight tracking app lets you follow airplanes, helicopters, drones, and more — anywhere in the world, in real time. You can even explore past flight history, set up custom Airspace alerts, and monitor drone activity with precision.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through six simple steps to unlock everything the AirspaceTracker app can do. Each section includes a short video so you can see exactly how it works and start exploring like a pro!

Step 1: Navigate the Skies Like a Pro

AirspaceTracker offers two powerful ways to explore your Airspace:
• Touch Mode:   : Move your location on the right side of the screen and adjust your view on the left.
• Gyro Mode:  : Tilt your device to look around, just like scanning the skies from a control tower.

Pro Tip: Zoom in on bubbles (aircraft) or cubes (drones) for an up-close perspective. For the best experience, use AirspaceTracker on a tablet.

Step 2: Jump Anywhere with the GoTo Button

The GoTo tool makes it easy to search and instantly view any location or aerial activity. Search by:
• Flight number, tail number, registration, or drone ID
• Airport code or name
• City, address, coordinates, or altitude
• Airline name to see all live flights

Whether you’re plane spotting, checking on a loved one’s flight, or exploring new skies, the GoTo feature puts you there in seconds.

Step 3: Explore Past Flight History with Playback Mode

With Playback Mode, you can revisit the skies exactly as they were before January 1, 2023. Watch takeoffs, landings, or major events as they happened.

Pro Tip: Zoom and pan during playback to capture every detail of air traffic movement.

Step 4: Stay Alert to What Matters Most

The Alerts feature keeps you informed of important activity in your Airspace. Set notifications for:
• Geofence:   Alerts when aircraft or drones enter your custom zone
• Near Miss:   Detects close aerial encounters
• Go Around:  Flags aborted landings
• Runway Incursion:   Detects unauthorized runway entries

Customize alerts by location, radius, and altitude so you only get the notifications you care about

Step 5: Personalize Your View with Settings

Make the AirspaceTracker app your own by adjusting the Settings menu: • Switch between 2D and immersive 3D views
• Show or hide bubbles, cubes, logos, and flight numbers
• Toggle Near Miss Detection on or off
• Control daylight automatically or manually

These settings let you fine-tune your tracking experience for exactly how you like to monitor the skies.

Step 6: Spot and Track Drones in Real Time

AirspaceTracker is also a powerful drone tracking app. Visit drone-active zones like KFLL to see cubes marking each drone’s position and movement. Cube colors change based on proximity, so you’ll know when something’s nearby.

Zoom in for precise movement tracking — ideal for drone hobbists, aviation enthusiasts, and security monitoring.
